With the way the world is moving, time waits for no one. We think we have time to get back to things but a lot of times, we don’t. The moment we say, we’ll do something later, we’re honestly slowing down our productivity and what we’re capable of doing and being.
When we say we’ll book that vacation, we’re telling our mind and body that slowing down and resting isn’t important enough. We all need a break from life, no matter where you are in your life. The time to slow down, rewire your erratic brain, reset your nervous system is surely necessary.
Time constantly moves, it’s fast and life keeps moving at its own pace. Eventually you’ll look back and the years have flown by. You were busy surviving, you never got to live. You’re worn out, tired and nothing to show for yourself but the dedication to a system that doesn’t benefit you.
With each day that passes, you’re getting older, you’re one day closer to your death. Are you living life to the fullest? Are you seeing the world for what it really is and adjusting to your environment? Or have you just accepted that, it is what it is and you no longer care to break from the shackles that hold you back?
I don’t know, I can’t answer those questions for you, but I can for me. I can say that I’ve been in the workforce since I was 15 years old making $5.15 an hour and learning the value of a dollar. Working 35 hours a week as a teenager during the summer, wearing dress clothes and working for one of the biggest hospitals in the United States.
I’ve been part of the system and I’m guilty of saying, “I’ll do it tomorrow,” or “I’ll do it another day.” It’s why I’m writing this blog now, to tell you to not hold off on the things you want to do for yourself. Too many times we fall in love with the idea of thinking time will be there for us to do certain things, we actually don’t.
It’s why in my book, “Living Life to the Fullest,” the biggest question and theme of that book is, “if you knew the day you were going to die, how would you live your life?” You would be doing all of the things you want to do, right? Exactly. So live as if today is your last day in the body and mind that you have in this exact moment.
That’s my blog for today, thanks for reading, be good and go accomplish your goals.
