One thing I can say I’ve been lucky to have in my life is a support system. People who truly care about you, your well-being and pushing you to be the best version of yourself. It’s also having people around you where you don’t have to be performative and you have to deal with expectations.
You have friends where if you don’t talk for long periods of time, they fully understand. When you’re having a rough patch in your life, they have a listening ear to what you’re dealing with and going through. But you also have friends who hold you accountable for your goals and where you’re trying to go in life. They make sure that you’re staying on track with your journey.
Nothing beats having the right people in your life, it makes a huge difference. Sometimes we have to let people go that aren’t meant to go on your life journey. Friendships, relationships and marriages end and while it might be a sad time, you’ll come to understand that these people aren’t meant to stay in your life for the long haul.
When you have drama, jealousy, arguments, miscommunication, you know that it’s not something you need or want in your life. With so much to focus on, on a day to day basis, exerting your energy on people and things that don’t matter can be mentally exhausting.
I’ve learned along the way that you’ll encounter a lot of people who don’t truly care for you, they just want to be part of your life, your energy and knowing what you’re up to. Use your discernment, listen intently, watch how people act and operate around you. When you get quiet and pay attention to people’s behavior, you’ll see the truth.
As you progress through your life journey, know and understand that it’s okay to let people go. It’s okay to have boundaries, it’s okay to keep things quiet, it’s okay to not let the whole world in on your journey on social media. It’s okay to move low key and not divulge everything that’s going on with you.
People will celebrate your failures more than your successes, people will also relish in your personal struggles. Sadly, you can’t let everyone into your circle. So continue to be thankful for those who care about every aspect of you without any expectations. Continue to be true to who you are and those who care will always adjust to you changing yourself for the better.
That’s my blog for today, be good and go accomplish your goals!
