The biggest thing for me is standing out from the crowd. It's about being myself and being true to who I am as a writer and author. Sometimes we get caught up with what's trendy and want to be part of that. I'm not someone who follows trends too much and I'm thankful that I'm not that way.
From the beginning of this journey, it was always about carving my own path. It was about being my own person and making sure I didn't follow what everyone else did. It's why I chose to write my books in a prose format.
When you're growing your brand, you want to always be sure that you make decisions that are best for you, not anyone else. I've been told plenty of things but if it's not valuable to my growth, then I can't go with what that person is saying.
Down the road, when I make time to reflect on this journey I'm currently on, I want to say that I did it my way. I always try to follow what I tell others, follow your heart and listen to your gut.
