We live in a world of validation and wanting everything so fast. Social media gives us an illusion of what life should be but it’s far from the truth. We idolize people that we don’t know and we want their lifestyle and what they have.
As it’s always been said, “comparison is the thief of joy.” We want fame, money, cars and big homes. We get caught in the materialistic and capitalistic components of life instead of doing things we love.
Fast doesn’t always equate to longevity. Sometimes getting everything you want so fast can lead to burnout. We forget that we should want things that are long lasting and something that we are passionate for and want to do for the rest of our lives.
We get caught up in wanting to win the quick race instead of running the longer race to greener pastures. Patience is something we lack in a fast moving world. Fast internet speeds, endless amounts of information on the internet, fast speeds on technological devices, fast deliveries for orders we make online, it’s partly the reason why we tend to want results for things faster.
We forget the longevity of the journey becomes more worth it. In the moment, we don’t see it that way. We’re conditioned to want things faster but that doesn’t mean it’s long-lasting.
Let’s focus on running our own marathon and race and not everyone else’s. Sometimes we don’t know what it took for the next person to get to where they are currently.
That’s my blog for today, thanks for reading, be good and go accomplish your goals!
