Sixty Audiobooks In 28 Days

The title of today’s blog sounds crazy but it was done. When I decided that I needed to get all of my books in audio format, I began my search to find the right website to achieve that. Four websites, three wasted subscriptions later, I finally found a website called Narakeet.

If you’re thinking to yourself, the company can’t be based in the United States, you are correct. The irony of all of this is, I utilize a lot of website based in Europe to do my most important work. The main website that you’re currently reading this blog on, Jimdo, they’re based in Germany. The website I use to format my books for epub and PDF, they’re based in Italy. And Narakeet is based in the U.K.

Sometimes you have to dig a little, keep on the grind and you’ll eventually find what you’re looking for. The website I used to create all of my audiobooks, was fast, efficient, had authentic voices in all different forms and I was able to pace myself and create my audiobooks.

Doing 60 books in 28 days is crazy, don’t get me wrong but I look at it as, I’m going to find the audience for my content since audiobooks are steadily growing and is a billion dollar market along with podcasting. With so many people shifting to audio format, there was definitely a need for me to cater to that potential audience.

While it took me time, I was thankful that I paid for the amount of minutes I would need and I wasn’t doing a subscription and had limitations on the website. That’s definitely a game changer when it comes to creating something that’s meaningful.

Everyday, I challenged myself to get three to four books done and I was able to do that. It was fun but also tiring, I won’t deny that. The point is, when you’re driven and crazy enough to know that the work you’re doing is going to impact so many people in so many ways, you’ll do the work day after day.

One thing I will say is, a lot of authors don’t have their books in audio format and they’re losing out on a lot of people that would be willing to listen to their content. Some people are not readers but can process and retrieve information better in audio format. It’s why I love the journey I’m on, learning, growing and continuing to push myself to new heights.

That’s my blog for today, thanks for reading as always, be good and go accomplish your goals!
