My Five Year Writing Journey

The title of this blog means a lot to me. I never thought I’d be writing books this long. I thought it would be a 2-3 year journey and I would run out of book ideas and content to write. It's been crazy how many book ideas come to mind and the stories I've been able to tell.

It started with one book idea on talking about men's issues that we struggle with and everything took off from there. The Struggles and Growth of a Man turned into a 5 book series, Code Blue became a 5 book series along with Kids With Guns and The World We Live In. These series were all challenging to write and brought out various emotions and feelings while writing them. I grew as a writer through writing these series and you learn a lot about yourself and the challenges it takes to write these books.

The standalone books were necessary to branch out my writing. I didn’t want to be someone who just wrote book series. I wanted to mix up my writing and talk about social issues from various perspectives. Most of my books have characters but there are books that are written from my perspective. That’s the fun challenge as a writer that I have, it’s the gauntlet of the work I do daily.

There’s a lot of time spent perfecting my craft, bringing out various characters that you can connect to and loving the process of creating these stories. What I will say is, if you want to be a writer//author, continue to work on your craft daily. Read books to develop your mind, write what you’re good at and love when stories you write.

That’s all for my journey of 5 years and I’m thankful for the talents and gifts I have!

Be good everyone and go accomplish your goals!
