AI has infiltrated our world and it’s not surprising. This was coming whether we wanted to believe it or not. There are good and bad things to do. While it’s helpful in generating ideas or formulating sentences and concepts, it’s also something that is detrimental to where our world is going.
Companies are starting to see the impact it’s having on the world, how useful it is but it’s starting to cut people out of the job market. Investors, shareholders and CEO’s are seeing it as an investment for the foreseeable future and it saves them salaries, benefits and 401k’s. Even the job I’m doing as I’m writing this has a potential future of AI and less humans in the mix.
While there will always be some semblance of humans within the mix of monitoring AI, there will be less of a need for people doing work, it’ll be AI doing it. The irony of it is, we’ve been told this for decades, what the future of this world will look like. We watched movies for entertainment but not for reading between the lines. We didn’t look at movies as documentaries of what’s to come.
iRobot, Inception, The Truman Show, The Matrix are just a few of prime examples of what the future held. The X-Files TV series, The Simpsons have always given us a glimpse of future events that will happen. It’s not all a coincidence anymore, it’s more of a scripted reality that we’re part of and artificial intelligence has entered the conversation.
AI has taken away our ability to think for ourselves, to learn from each other. Everything has become computerized, there’s no engagement, social interactions face to face. We’re on FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp and Microsoft Teams more now than ever. A concerning future for sure and a lot of uncertainty.
We now live in an artificial world where time moves fast, nothing feels real or authentic and the evil around us is all playing off of our emotions. As AI advances, we will struggle to decipher what’s reality and what’s fake. The sooner we have these conversations, the more we can get control of what’s coming.
It’s probably going to get worse before we put our foot down and decide that AI is not what we need, it’s human connection. It’s what this life was built off of.
That’s my blog for today, thanks for reading, be good and go accomplish your goals!
