Are We Drained?

The title of this blog is something I want to address. The world has us drained and feeling there’s no end to all that we’re dealing with and going through. We’re all trying to figure it out with inflation, the job market, all that’s going on in the world, it’s taking a toll on all of us mentally, physically, emotionally and spiritually.

Being drained doesn’t mean we need to do more. It means that we need rest and time to recover.  It requires us to decompress from the world and control whatever we can. There are things we can’t do much about and we need to focus on the moment.

We’re all trying to survive and we should be living. Survival is not what we’re meant to do in this life. Doing the same monotonous job, getting nothing out of it to pay rent or your mortgage and get one to two vacations a year if you’re lucky, that’s not life.

The average company gives people two weeks of vacation a year. You’re telling me that 50 weeks a year, you should be dedicating 35-40 of your 168 hours a week to a company that will replace you in a heartbeat?

We are all drained, I see it on social media, I watch the videos, I see it in the pictures of fake happiness. Facial expressions don’t lie, body language shows even when someone is smiling in pictures.

It’s a battle of emotions and trying to keep it together daily. It’s a climate that so many people keep saying it’s for a season. Well, it’s a long season, I could’ve sworn seasons only last a few weeks at a time. This is approaching 6 years as I’m writing this.

From 2020 until the present time, it’s been a journey of trying to get by and figure things out. Whether you’re in a relationship, married,  single, we’re all going through something in some way shape or form.

I don’t lie,  I don’t fake the funk and I don’t post on social media to uphold and maintain an image. I have friends who are going through it, I know it but it’s just something I don’t discuss with all of them.

The most I can say is, one day at a time. While, I don’t know what you’re dealing with and going through, all I ask is to trust someone to talk out things. I know what you’re thinking, when is this “season” going to end? Hopefully soon…

That’s my blog for today, thanks for reading, be good and go accomplish your goals!
