Who Are You?

Without the job title, the tech devices you own, the money you make, the apartment you live in or house you own, without the car you drive, who are you? When there are no labels bestowed upon you, who are you really? Do you really know or are you confined to the labels of what society bestows upon us?

Are you focused on being a son/daughter, nephew/niece, cousin, brother/sister, a human being first? That’s part of us and who we are, that’s within our identity. That’s what makes us who we are, the family aspect of things come first and foremost.

We’re so easily quick to say the things I said in the first paragraph instead of the second paragraph. It’s what society has programmed us to do and be. We forget to think for ourselves sometimes in who we are.

Yes, when we’re born, there’s a race and ethnicity attached to us that separates us from everyone else but that doesn’t define us in its entirety. That’s the lineage of our family and ancestors.

It’s hard for us to tell others who we are because we don’t take the time to think about it. We attach what we do for work or our passions to who we are. That’s just a small portion of what our lives are and consist of.

Who you are is what you feel within your soul and spirit, it’s what you experience in life, it’s how you manage your day to day mentally. It’s how you manage your emotions, if you explore who you are daily, what makes you happy, what brings you joy, what satisfies your soul. Those are the components of what makes us who we are.

Take time to think about and explore who you are, what you like, don’t like, what you love to do and what brings you comfort daily.

Thanks for reading my blog today, have a good week, be good and go accomplish your goals!
