When we think of success and greatness, we think of the end goal, the finish line, the accolades, awards, money in the bank account and living life comfortably. What we don’t take into account is the long road it takes to get there. The amount of time, patience, energy and effort it takes to achieve the success you want.
Everyone defines success differently. Society and the media tell us what it is and what it is supposed to be. People will define it on their own terms because I know that I have and I’m glad that I’m not caught up in living lavishly.
Success and greatness is a long drive across the country that you have to be prepared for. It’s having the right car, not a lot of issues with the car, filling up the gas tank, and traveling with the right people in your car. Those who will keep you focused on the road, with the right vibes and energy, the ones who will support you through the whole journey no matter what happens on this road.
The road will be bumpy at times, you’ll have to make pit stops to refocus, get your mind right, refuel. The road you’ll travel will be full of distractions such as scenery which can be people in real life. The scenery is great but you still need to focus on where you’re going. You’ll deal with the elements such as different weather changes (rain, snow and any other weather conditions) where you’ll have to focus even more on where you’re going.
That’s the road to success and greatness. Driving down a road of uncertainty where you’ll deal with sunlight and moonlight. Where things will change from one day to the next and it’s how you assimilate to situations.
Embrace the road, the challenges of what’s to come and know that success will be there when you get to your destination, just drive the speed limit.
