If You're Okay With Failing, You'll Achieve Success

Our lives are full of ups and downs, it’s a rollercoaster ride of emotions. We don’t even realize that our emotions affect us in our daily lives. We forget that how we react to most things will affect us somewhere along the lines. This surely applies to the road to achieving success in whatever it is you are doing.

To achieve success, you’ll surely have to fail. I had a book reading and signing and no one showed up. Not one single person. I sat in a bookstore for hours and not one soul came. That surely didn’t get me down or deter me. Was it bad timing? Was it not promoting it enough? Was it people not knowing who I am? I won’t ever know those answers but I know that I have to continue to move forward.

You’ll have to make some bad decisions and make some bad investments along the way. The question is, are you okay with failing in order to achieve success? Are you ready for the challenge mentally and emotionally to fail so you can achieve the results you want down the line?

If your answer is yes, you will be fine and everything will work out down the road. You won’t have to worry much because there's comfort and security in knowing what your journey will be and consist of. If the answer is no, you’ll surely have to readjust your mindset to prepare for those failures and falls. Nothing will be easy and eventually, you’ll have to be okay with failing to get the results you want.

Just think, if you made all of the right decisions, will the success be as fulfilling? Will your story have substance if you’re telling everyone that things went well and it was smooth sailing? The answer is most likely no. Having failures allows us to learn and grow and it also allows us to share our stories with others so they can learn from us.

In hindsight, be okay with failing. It’s not the end all, be all, it’s just the beginning. Stay focused, stay ready and you won’t have to get ready. Be good everyone and go accomplish your goals!
